Obama Jokes About Socialism & Sucks Donors Dry
Instead of starting any type of legislation he promised this week, such as ending the two wars or “Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell,” President Obama did whatever he did the past couple days and then headed to a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in San Francisco Thursday night to take advantage of the liberal-minded people by sucking up their donations on the heels of his rousing speech at the Human Rights Campaign banquet.
At the fundraiser he poked at recent health care criticism saying, “When I’m busy, and Nancy’s [Pelosi] busy, with a mop cleaning up somebody else’s mess, we don’t want somebody sitting back saying, ‘you’re not holding the mop the right way’…’you’re not mopping fast enough’…’that’s a socialist mop.’”
“Grab a mop. We need help,” he said.
The DNC gave them a dinner, some speeches by Obama, Pelosi and venture capital firm Hummer Winblad head Mark Gorenberg and a concert by Tracy Chapman. The affair drained about $3 million from the donors.
It seems Obama needs to stop trying to be a celebrity and maybe actually pick up that legal mop.
